It is difficult to find a complete set of The Life and Works of John Adams because the publisher's brown cloth covers of these volumes did not wear well. American Book Exchange and the other internet book exchanges have few complete 10 volume sets that are listed from $2,000 (a mixed edition like this one) to $650 (ex-library with some detached boards). There are invariably defects to the covers and spines and foxing where the engraving protectors are present. The text of our volumes are in good shape with occasional foxing but very readable and all the boards appear to be firmly attached.
