Calvin Coolidge 1919 Post-Election Congratulation Acknowledgement to Hometown Northampton Fan Brushed Hand Against Signature Too Soon
In this letter Governor Calvin Coolidge acknowledges congratulation on his reelection as Governor from a supporter from his hometown of Northampton, Massachusetts where he served as Mayor and returned to after leaving the Presidency in 1929. In the flurry of sending out the many congratulations he was receiving, especially after the notoriety surrounding his conduct in the Boston Police Strike, Coolidge got a little sloppy with this letter and must have brushed his hand across his signature immediately after signing it. The letter is in nice condition and measures 7 3/8 x 10 1/4 inches. Price: $250
