"A Map of the Island of Corsica"

 

Below is a close-up of the map showing the City of Ajaccio, the birthplace of the famous General and Emperor of France, Napoleon Bonaparte.

The text explaining the map, a copy of which will provided, states, "The island is so situated, as to be extremely convenient for a maritime nation; and this situation was improved by the ancient inhabitants; not to establish any trade of their own, but to annoy that of other states by a perpetual piracy; so that a Corsair and a Pirate became synonymous terms."
